Nanook Designs is a one woman show run by myself; Michelle Wilde (Micki).  I am married with 2 gorgeous children and adoptive parent of a very amusing miniature schnauzer called ‘Storm’.

I’m from an artistic background; my Father had his own business as a skilled joiner making clocks, and my Grandmother and Great-Grandmother could knit and crochet for England.

Born and bred in a chocolate box village, with the beautiful Midlands countryside on my doorstep. Holidays every summer to my aunt and uncles house on the stunning south coast of England, A girl could not ask for better inspiration.

Originally a Yoga teacher, card crafter and polymer clay artist, I was introduced to jewellery design by another jeweller friend of mine. I used to buy bits of her jewellery until one day she gave me a kit of beads, findings and some wire, and said ‘why don’t you have a go yourself?’ Well that was me hooked.

A few years later I began selling off pieces that I had made, to friends and family, and eventually setting up business, selling at craft fairs, jewellery parties and on ebay. So here I am today with my own website for my collection of handcrafted 'ooak' jewellery pieces.
